This house is so important to rebuilding our family. After far too long apart, we will all be reunited under one roof whilst having that separation of areas, which is crucial to ensure all and everyone’s needs are met. We then have the heart of the home being central and bringing us all together.
New Build Residential Client, Kent
Project Description
An existing property was demolished to make way for a bespoke accessible new build house designed to meet a family’s specific needs. The custom-designed property comprises the accessible main family living areas, as well as an independent mobility-adapted apartment. External garden works include an inclusive social entertaining area – and an outbuilding with a fully accessible pub!
The sustainably-designed bungalow was built using energy-efficient Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) blocks, and features PV solar panels and a Passivent system.
Meeting the Design Brief
This family had been living apart due to an accident that left one member wheelchair-bound and unable to access the family home. The primary focus of our brief was to reunite the family whilst maintaining our client’s independence. All necessary equipment and adapted areas have been thoughtfully designed and installed to suit their needs both now and in the future.
Our experienced design team worked closely with the clients and their OT Consultant, to create the perfect accessible new build house for the available budget. Bespoke interior design features include a luxury wetroom with custom black ceiling track hoist system.
The main build was completed and handed over to the home owners in July 2024.
