We are excited to share the news that our accessible annexe project has been handed over to its delighted owners in Canterbury, Kent.
The state-of-the-art accessible annexe has been specifically adapted for a 25-year-old with a spinal cord injury awaiting discharge from Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Located adjacent to the main family residence, the new build accessible home will provide enhanced independence, safety and privacy for the client.
The annexe was partially DFG-funded and we worked alongside the client’s Trusted Assessor and support network to deliver an optimally adapted solution for the available budget.
It was our pleasure to work alongside the architect, Kent Design Studio, undertaking construction and specialist fit-out for this uniquely adapted property.
The main annexe building has now been handed over. All remaining ‘weather dependent’ external works will be completed this coming Spring. This includes levelling to lay the lawn and a wildflower link pathway to main house. Also colour treatment of the external wood cladding to blend the new annexe with the main Listed building and its heritage setting.
Full details of the annexe’s design features – including accessibility, specialist adaptations and sustainability features – can be found on our Accessible Annexe Case Study page.
